They call her love

Victoire Weasley. Gryffindor at heart. Kind. Compassionate. Girlfriend of Teddy Lupin. Lovely.

“Nah, I think I could beat the sand if it ever did try to eat me. I’m just that fantastic,” Teddy joked, turning his hair to a color that matched the fake sand on the ground. Victoire looked as beautiful as ever, but the fact that she was smiling only made it better. He leaned forward and placed a small kiss on her lips before she could respond to his words, then grinned as he pulled away and she started speaking. “Okay, so no Brazil. Only a small island that we have all to ourselves.” He heard a faint pop and turned his head in the direction of the noise, only to see a small cabin appear in the sand. He let out a small “wow”. “Merlin’s Beard, what are we going to do without all of this stuff next year?” He groaned. “We’re going to have to actually pay to go to all of these fancy places.” Once she pulled away from his grasp, he did the same thing as her and moved so he was floating on his back, his eyes scanning the fake sky.

Teddy let out small laugh at Victoire’s plans for next year. He didn’t laugh in a way that he was making fun of her, he just thought it was cute. To get the job of Healing that he wanted, he had to start working practically the day after he graduated, so he didn’t get to go run around the world. “Maybe I’ll come visit you when I get some time off,” he smiled softly. “That is, if I can actually track you down and your family agrees to tell me where the hell you are this time,” he joked, nudging her softly so she would know he was joking. Of course he was still a bit upset that she had just up and left him, but he understood why, so he didn’t plan on holding it against her.

As soon as he heard her words, he tore his eyes away from the “sky” and stopped floating on his back, instead opting for treading water. “Of course you excite me, love,” he said reassuringly. He wasn’t going to lie and say he had never gotten bored, because everyone, at one point or another, gets bored in their relationship. They had been dating two years before the whole Sophia thing, it was bound to happen. It was true that Teddy did have a short attention span, and he would admit that much, but he wouldn’t say that Victoire bored him. “After all, who else would take me to the Room of Requirement and make it a little island in the Caribbean? Hm?” He smiled reassuringly at her.

His hands reached out and took hers, then pulled her close to him. “Yes, love. I think you’re too nice and considerate and I hate it,” he said sarcastically as he placed a soft kiss on her neck. Victoire was, in all honest, the nicest person Teddy knew, and he loved it. He had no idea why she was talking about it like it was a bad thing. Sure, sometimes it went a bit too far, like when they were nine and she found a dead bird in her backyard and insisted on giving it a funeral which he was forced to attend. Then again when the same thing happened last summer. But all in all, he loved how nice she was. “Vic, I love it. I love how nice you are. I love how considerate you are, all right? There’s nothing the matter with being nice, so I don’t see why you’re fretting about this.”

It was just a nagging feeling, the whole she wasn’t good enough part. It wasn’t that she wasn’t content and happy with who she was, but sometimes she was a little bit curious as to whether or not that would be enough for Teddy in the future. Touching the necklace on her neck she nodded and freely went to him as he pulled her closer. “I don’t think I would be able to go though.” Victoire said sadly as she watched him with her blue eyes and let her slender fingernails play over his bare chest. “I really couldn’t bear to be away for you as long as it would take me to see all of these places.” Victoire had always been well aware of how being a Healer was an extensive job and needed alot of time and effort and she knew once they left Hogwarts she would rarely ever see him.

“When you become a Healer,” She began, “And assuming we get a flat together and you only see me for a little bit a day promise me you won’t get bored with me.” She said and pursed her lips, she wasn’t quite positive about how long the hours were at the hospital but she had heard from an older women she had once asked about it that she barely saw her husband, but she promised herself she would make it work. “When you do get frusterated with me just tell me ok? And then I will whisk you away to some exciting place or wait till you get home and cook you extravagent dinners.” Smiling up at him she poked him in the chest lightly. “Ok?”

Teddy let out a laugh at Victoire’s suggestive comment and pulled off his shirt as he kept his gaze towards the ceiling. Even if the whole place was fake, it felt nice. He folded his arms behind his back to form a type of pillow to rest his head and he closed his eyes so the fake sun didn’t blind his eyes. He heard the water splash lightly and figured out that she was walking in the water. Opening one eye, he peaked to see if he was right, and grinned when he realized that he was and at how calm she was. It was common knowledge to anyone who knew her that she loved the sun and warmth. The irony that she lived in Britain was cruel. At the moment, he didn’t want to go in the water, and he knew that she would be fine as long as she knew he was there. But this was one of the only times he got to relax. For the past few weeks, he had no work that he had to do, but he had spent the entire time panicking over Victoire. But she was there now and he could finally fully relax.

Once he had counted until two hundred, Teddy sat up and looked out at the fake ocean to see where she was. As soon as he did, he saw her head pop out of the water, and he let out a sigh of relief. He stood up and unbuttoned his pants, pulling them off so he was only in his boxers like he was the other day when he was in this same room with Sophia, swimming in a pool. Walking quickly, he walked into the water. The water began to touch his shoulders, and he ducked underneath to swim towards her. His arms wrapped around her waist, his hands folded over her stomach in an attempt to surprise her. His own head popped out of the water and he placed a kiss on her cheek.

As he looked out on the water, he placed his chin on her shoulder. “Merlin’s beard, this can’t actually go on forever can it? I bet if we swam out enough we’d hit a wall or something.” Although the Room of Requirement was amazing, it was in no way, shape, or form flawless, and he was sure that there was some end to this paradise, no matter how wonderful it looked.

Teddy’s hands found their place on her hips and turned her around so she was facing him. Merlin, she looks so happy, he thought. He almost felt bad for her having to come home when he knew how happy she would be in Brazil. If she was this happy in Fake-Brazil, she would surely have been ecstatic in Real-Brazil.

Even though the sun was fake it still glittered off her newly wet hair and she grinned as she felt familiar arms wrap around her waist. “There you are,” She said and turned around looking at him, “I was beginning to think the sand had eaten you.” She said playfully a grin still on her face. For as long as Victoire could remember she had been gifted with perfect teeth was evident every time she smiled. Her mother always told her that she had luck when it came to her looks, her teeth were white enough to blind someone and so straight it even baffled the dentists she had visited. “Shh.” She said laughing a little bit as she looked at where there must be a wall, “Your ruining the illusion. Let’s just pretend.” She said her mind running miles as her imagination started to work over time. “Lets pretend that we aren’t in Brazil but a secluded island that we have all to ourselves in the Carribean.” She said, “And we are out of school and there is a luxurious cabin for just the two of us.” As she spoke a small cabana appeared on the sand and she smiled, she knew how to work the room of requirement.

Leaving his grasp Victoire fell back in the warm, bright blue water that mirrored the color of her eyes. “When I get out of school I want to spend atleast a year chasing summer.” She said outstretching her fingers as they hovered over the water as she floated with her legs loosely wrapped around his waist. “It would always be sunny and warm and I wouldn’t have to wear anything but a bathing suit.” She said, she had the idea of doing this sort of thing since sixth year. She loved the warmth, she loved the tropics, and most of all she loved the idea of freedom it would give her.

“Do I excite you, Teddy?” She asked after a few moments of staring up at the serene turquoise sky, “Like do I ever surprise you with the things I say or do. I want to be spontaneous, I try to be spontaneous so you don’t get bored with me, but sometimes I feel like it’s impossible to do. Whatever I do your constantly a step ahead of me and know what I am doing.” That was one of the reasons she thought Teddy had left her for, because he knew her so well, she had become predictable. Sophia was someone who probably enthralled Teddy and captivated him and she always felt like she fell short of that. Sometimes she felt a little trapped in this little box, and it was suffocating her, she didn’t even know why she felt that way for she had never been confined.

Victoire was what some people called a free spirit, she didn’t follow rules she made the rules. She did what she wanted when she wanted most of the time, of course after she carefully considered everyone else who was involved. “Do you think I am too…” She said trying to come up with the word, “Caring? Or nice, or maybe even considerate?” Victoire had always been one to put others high above herself usually thinking about her own interests and needs last. In her mind if everyone else was happy then she would be fine, and if there was any way to make someone else’s life perfect she would sacrafice her own happiness for theirs. James had even often joked that she would throw herself in front of a bus for a stranger, which she realized was extremely true.

Thats my personal blog and I want to win SOOOO bad. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

No matter how much she pretended otherwise, he was fully aware that the scarf was annoying her and he wished more than anything that he had a time turner so he could stop himself from making the marks on her neck that she was now striving to hide. Before he had even noticed that she had left him, Victoire was back at his side, except she had tied a bandana around his head, so it was like he was staring at darkness. For a second, the thought alarmed him. He had never liked the complete dark. It wasn’t that he was afraid of it, no. It was just that he hated it. It made him feel lonely and cold. But if Victoire could put up with a scarf, he could put up with the dark.

Even thought Teddy trusted Victoire with his life, he felt a bit uneasy as she began to push him through the Common Room. He had heard a few people whispering amongst himself, and was moderately grateful that none of them had asked anything. Once they were out, she began to walk faster, which meant he stumbled even more than before. Naturally he stumbled often because he was so clumsy, but the blind fold didn’t help his case at all. Since there were stairs, which he also stumbled on, he formed the small suspicion that she was taking him to the Room of Requirement. This year especially he had gone there multiple times, so he knew the directions to it like the back of his hands. Nonetheless, he could tell that Victoire was excited, so he didn’t open his mouth, and instead waited until she brought him to a halt. When she told him to stay, his suspicion was proven right. She would need to focus to open the door, so he had to be still.

Teddy grinned as she pulled him inside of the room and he breathed in the scent of the ocean slowly. He had always loved the smell of the ocean. It reminded him of Shell Cottage which reminded him of the blonde holding his hand. A small laugh escaped his throat at her comment. Sometimes he thought she knew him too well. In his opinion, this would probably end up being better than Brazil, because when they actually went, his eye would probably end up wandering a good amount. Slipping his arm around her shoulders, he pulled her against him then leaned down to place a kiss on the top of her head. “It’s beautiful, love. Thank you.”

After kissing her, Teddy pulled away and walked around a bit, staring at the fake ocean in the room. Noticing the sand on the ground that covered the floor, he pulled off his shoes and tossed them towards the door before plopping himself down on the ground. He rolled the bottom of his pants up so his calves were exposed and pushed up his sleeves. “I quite like this, sweetheart. Is this what Brazil is actually like?”

Victoire couldn’t help but roll his eyes, Teddy got jealous when she didn’t even look at other guys but she brushed it off. “More or less.” She said walking up behind him but not sitting down quite yet. “Brazil actually has alot of people on the beaches, this is just a small duplicate, it so much more beautiful there.” She said and smiled, even though the sun hitting her back was fake she loved it. That was one of the things she hated about England the lack of sun and warmth. Victoire needed warmth and sometimes even came a little depressed without enough sun, it was a rare disorder that people had but luckily for her she had one of the minor cases of Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Kicking off her shoes and rolling of her socks, she took of her pants and shirt so she was only in her underwear and then began walking to the ocean tossing her hair behind her and giving him a smirk, “Too bad this really isn’t Brazil, I was wearing much less there.” She said as her feet hit the warm water, she didn’t know if he was following or not but she went farther and farther in the water. She went all the way up to her shoulders so that the ends of her rather long hair were submerged in water. She missed Brazil, she missed being on vacation and being away from everyone. Despite the fact that Victoire was often surrounded by people she fared well by herself as long as she knew that there was someone to come home too.

Ducking her head underneath the water she decided she liked it under there more compared to the darkness of the lake she usually had to swim in. After school she wanted to go around the world mostly places that were always warm and sunny and had beautiful beaches. But mostly she wanted to get away from everything here, she wanted to get away from her family for a bit and find herself without their guidance, and she wanted to get away from everything here that made her sad. She felt like if she left she would leave every imperfection behind, the abuse, the drinking, and most of all the jealousy and hurt that she had experienced in the last couple of months.

Her lungs finally begun to scream for oxygen and her head burst through the water. Even though it was a room she realized that it looked like the ocean went on for miles. The room of requirement had always been one of her favorite places because it could be anything she wanted it to be.

“Hm…I don’t believe you have,” Teddy teased, smiling as Victoire crawled back into his lap. His arms comfortably wrapped around her waist as he felt her legs cross behind his back. “Nope. No four leaf clover. You were, are, just charming and beautiful and everything I could possibly want in a girl I love,” he said softly as he began to rub circles on her lower back. When they were little, whenever they were bored, Victoire would constantly come up with a new game for them to play, so Teddy was no stranger to her imagination. He had just never heard her four leaf clover story, which he thought was ridiculous. It was like he was drawn to her. Even without the clover, he would always find his way back to the part- Veela girl that he had grown up with.

As Victoire spoke, Teddy couldn’t help but remember the same things. He remembered being the obedient little boy he was and following Victoire around. Sometimes, he would change his hair to the blue while he was with her because it always evoked such an amusing reaction from her, but sometimes, he would simply wait until he got home to make his hair the blue that matched her princess dress so he could remember the events of that day. “I remember me, you, and James all playing pirates. Even though I always wanted to be the pirate, James got that because he would cry if he didn’t, so I was stuck being the hero, which I hated up until I realized that I got to save you. The beautiful little six year old damsel in distress that I grew to love.” To this day, whenever he closed his eyes, he could still picture them as the little kids they were running around Shell Cottage. This was still when he had practically no idea how to control what he could do due to his…talent. He would constantly be changing his hair from color to color to mimic everyone around him. Around his Uncle Ron, he would make his hair red, but then around his Uncle Harry, his head would be a messy black and he would have a red mark on his forehead because he could never make the scar no matter how hard he tried.

Just like when they were little, Teddy obediently stood up to go with Victoire. He walked over to where his trunk was and flipped it open, pulling out a clean pair of black pants and one of his white button up shirts that was part of his uniform. Just in case, he pulled out one of his Gryffindor ties, but didn’t put it around his neck, instead opting to tie it around his wrist. When he looked over to Victoire, he noticed that she had thrown on a scarf and, although she didn’t show it, he knew she was getting annoyed by it. He head out so he could grab her hand then gave her a small smile. “I’m sorry,” he muttered, before tugging on her hand so they could leave his room. “Adventure, yeah?”

Victoire couldn’t help but smile again as he brought up the pirate game. She remembered that game clearly, only because none of the boys had ever wanted to play princess’s so she got to be the princess while they were pirates. It had been an amusing game one James had always loved. “You were one cute Hero.” She said poking his nose and he had been, even when they were little he had been cute and so much stronger then her and when he rescued her from James, who always actually stabbed her with his fake sword, he would pick her up in her arms.

Although the scarf was itchy and making her feel like she couldn’t breathe she shrugged it off pretending like it didn’t bother her as much as it actually did. Laughing as he pulled his hand she walked a little faster so she was in lead but then stopped. “Hmmm…” She said to herself and then motioned for him to wait and then ran to her room and grabbed a bandana. Returning to his side she gave him her best devilish smile. “Turn around.” She said and as he obliged she tied the baby blue bandana tightly around his eyes and grabbed his hand so she could lead him. “It’s going to be surprise.” She said with a wide smile although he couldn’t see it with the bandana.

As she walked through the common room she got a couple of weird looks as she was leading her boyfriend blind folded out of the room. GIving them polite smiles she opened the portrait hole and began to walk a little faster eager for what she had planned. FInally she reached the floor which held the room of requirement. “Stay.” She said as she wished for something with her eyes closed for extra effect. A wooden door appeared with a palm tree carved into the dark wood. As she stepped in with Teddy she was immediately overcome with the smell of the tropics and the sun on her skin. She had asked the room for an exact replica of the beach she loved in Brazil. It had white sand and an ocean so blue it almost made her giddy. The waves crashed in the make shift ocean as she went to pull the blond fold off of Teddy.

“Now it’s not exactly the same as Brazil, for there are no exotic women with nothing on to distract you.” She said and didn’t let any sort of jealousy seep into her tone. She knew Teddy looked at other girl’s sometimes and she pretended like it didn’t bother her. Finally she had the blondfild tucked neatly into her pocket as she quickly took off her horrid scarf. “Welcome to Brazil.” She said and turned to him watching his reaction hoping he would like the surprise.

Although he wanted to ask, Teddy stopped himself from asking anything that was idiotic. Now was definitely not the time to ask about Victoire’s ex-boyfriends or about her drinking and, frankly, he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to hear the answers to his questions. Even though he knew he shouldn’t, the part of him that was Victoire’s best friend wanted to, and the part of him that was the jealous boyfriend wanted to know so he could beat up whoever had hurt her. But he held himself back. Now wasn’t the time and he was simply have to wait until that time came.

A sigh of relief left his lips at her words and he grinned as she kissed almost every piece of skin on his hands. His eyes went to look at the necklace and how it looked on her neck, and the sight only made him grin more. It looked perfect. Then again, anything would look perfect on her. “Victoire, I promise you that I won’t resent you for this. I really, really do promise you that.” Teddy didn’t know what it was, but the second he had put the necklace on her, every doubt that he could think of simply melted away, leaving him more confident about their relationship than he had ever been. If he got that feeling from simply giving her a necklace, he could barely imagine how he was going to feel when he actually, properly, asked her to marry him. The little voice in the back of his head had finally managed to silence itself, for once, leaving Teddy with a large grin on his face as his hair changed from his normal dark brown to a bright turquoise, the color he knew she loved most on him.

Teddy saw the hesitation in Victoire’s eyes but didn’t move to say anything. He leaned his forehead against hers and closed his eyes, hoping that somehow, she would understand everything he thought without needing him to put it into an awkward mess of words that were bound to make no sense at all. Although he still did have feelings for the brunette Slytherin, he wouldn’t dare do anything to ruin his relationship with the girl in front of him. As much as he fancied Sophia, he loved Victoire. Picking up his head, he placed a kiss on Victoire’s nose then, keeping his fingers laced with hers, started to walk backwards towards his bed. Je t’aime aussi, ma chérie,” he whispered, grinning as he felt the mattress hit the back of his legs, signaling that he could sit down.

Victoire nodded finally pushing away the voice in her head that was constantly telling her she wasn’t good enough. That part of her had never been any good for her and had shown up around the time she started dating. Wrapping her arms around Teddy she smiled at him, her entire face lighting up as the corners of her mouth upturned. “Have I ever told you how lucky I am that I can call you mine?” She said as she went with him to the bed and as he sat down again she returned to her previous position as she sat on his lap and wrapped her legs around his back. “When we were little I thought I was the luckiest girl in the world because you were my best friend. I kept thinking that it must be because I had found a four leaf clover.” She said laughing slightly at the thought of the small blonde girl she used to be who had an imagination that used to go unmatched by anyone.

“Remember when you used to play pretend with me?” She said as her hands went under his shirt feeling the strength of his chest underneath her fingers, every part of her felt right sitting there with him as she looked at him the slightest of smiles still in place. “I always used to make you play prince and princess with me.” When Victoire had been small she had received a realistic looking blue princess dress and a tiara for a present from her mother. She used to wear it almost everytime when Teddy came over and make him play with her. “I think we pretend married about a dozen times making rings out of the stems of flowers.” Victoire had been a cute child with glowing blonde hair that got everyone’s attention and bright blue eyes that danced with life and a small that lit up the room. Leaning in to kiss him she slowly placed her lips on his and kept them there before pulling away slightly and smiled, “Thats when I decided that I loved you, my blue haired friend.” She said and ruffled the hair that was her favorite color and had been since she was four.

Making a split second descision Victoire got up and pulled on the edges of his shirt, “Come on,” She said and picked up her clothes off the ground trading them for the ones she had borrowed from him. “Lets go on an adventure.” She said and remembering the current state of her neck grabbed a gryffindor scarf from his dresser and wrapped the horrible thing around her neck. She immediately felt suffocated but she saw him watching her and tried to smile as if it was fine. She could brave a scarf it was no big deal.
